Tim Dignard — intern, sport services department.Dignard, a fourth-year commerce student at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ont., won out among competitors to earn one of the “pinnacle” summer internships in the field of sports administration.
Just finishing a four-month stint, the Moncton, N.B., native, has helped sports managers with projects ranging from producing PowerPoint documents to making major presentations.
“It’s been overwhelming, but in a good, really positive way,” Dignard said.
An honours student in Laurentian’s bachelor of commerce in sports administration program, Dignard said he applauds Vancouver for winning the 2010 Olympics.
“When this [internship] opportunity came up, I didn’t have to think twice about it,” he said. “I applied, did the interview, and feel fortunate to this day that I got it.”
