Snowbirds are in town! The jets, that is.

Canada’s famous acrobat squadron is in Comox to practice their maneuveurs for the upcoming air show season.

Captain Jody McKinnon, the team coordinator, says flying over BC’s mountains and coastline is great practice and much different compared to their home base in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, “You can’t always make out the same horizons, so there’s a lot of visual effects and a lot of things that we do when we come out here that really build your whole airshow picture and your ability to fly a performance at a different site, other than the one we’ve been practicing at for the last six months.”

The Snowbirds will be in Comox until April 27, and, weather-permitting, are planning a practice flight over the Comox waterfront next Saturday, April 21st at 11am.

They will be available for autographs at the Air Force Museum that afternoon.
