Muggles braved the cold and wet weather to get their copy of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.KidsBooks hosted the city’s biggest launch party at VanDusen Gardens where 7 thousand tickets were sold. Tents were set up so that fans, lots of them dressed up, could buy their copy of the seventh and final book in the series. Many of them were speculating on how the story would end.
The Harry Potter series, written by a British single Mom has made J.K. Rowling the world’s richest author. She has also been credited with reviving interest in reading at a time when many kids are playing computer games.
Those who have ordered their book online will have their copy specially delivered by Canada Post later this morning.
Parents can expect a quiet weekend!
