Metro Vancouver History Pool
Photographs depicting the history of a Vancouver, British Columbia, including Metro Vancouver (formerly the "Greater Vancouver Regional District"). However, the limits aren't so fussy that pictures from the Fraser Valley and up the Sunshine Coast aren't welcome. There is also little restriction on the historical eras to be included, although clearly "current events" type photos or pictures without an apparent historical aspect (subjective criteria, yes, but flexible) will be removed. Moreover, just because something is old does not make it historical. If it's not obvious in the photo, please make sure your photos have a description stating the relevance.

03103 Hastings Street, Vancouver 1973
wild prairie man has added a photo to the pool:
Rainy day in January, Hastings Street, Vancouver. Scanned from the original Fujichrome slide (ISO 100), 1973. I didn't shoot much Fujichrome; it was the new kid on the block among slide films in the 1970s and vastly inferior to Kodak's main menu of Kodachrome and Ektachrome. The colours were muted, almost pastel, and shadow areas could be murky. The great Velvia films were still almost 20 years in the future.

Demolition worker - 1978
wild prairie man has added a photo to the pool:
A street shot made in 1978 on good old Tri-X (ISO 400). I was walking down the street, past the site of a fire where demolition workers were cleaning up the rubble, when I heard one of them let out a shout. He had just found an old license plate in the debris. I asked him to show it to me, he flashed a smile, and I squeezed off a couple of shots.

Centennial Fountain
Maxwell_Smart has added a photo to the pool:
Installed in 1966 in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, this fountain commemorates not the centennial of Canada (which occurred a year later, in 1967), but the centennial of the union of the colonies of Vancouver Island and British Columbia. The united colonies took on the name "British Columbia".

It always looks like he's sweating when it rains. He's got a name, I just didn't read the plaque. He's Canadian I'm sure.
