Improved Block Parent program returns
In the good old days, kids could ride their bikes and spend hours unsupervised playing hide-and-seek down the cul-de-sac but times have changed and parents are much more protective.
It was a simpler time, when a home with a Block Parent sign in the window was a refuge your child could trust. The program is now coming back and many parents say they like the idea. One man says he would like a new and improved Block Parent program but he couldn’t just send his kids to a stranger’s house. He says he would have to meet the family first.
The National Block Parent Program returns committed to reflect the changes in society. The program will issue new signs in the next few months, under new terms that will include improved application, screening and approval policies.
